When wanting to catch up on entertainment news, talk shows, reality TV and other interesting videos while simultaneously getting witty, clever and smart commentary, watch The Soup. Every Friday night at 10 p.m. on E!, Host Joel McHale and crew select the funniest clips from TV shows, and Joel McHale responds to the clip with a humorous remark.
The show’s format consists of a summary of the top news, followed by many segments, the most notable being “Chat Stew,” which features a female’s voice saying, “So meaty,” “Chicks, Man” and “Reality Show Clip Time.” Then, the show ends with a clip of the week, the best clip from the past week.
Regular talk show hosts on “Chat Stew” include Tyra Banks, where Joel will use previous clips from her show to cleverly make fun of her narcissism, and CNN Headline News’s Nancy Grace, who often makes impulsive, outrageous comments on her show, adding to The Soup’s comedy.
“Chicks, Man,” features the women in Hollywood (Britney Spears and Lindsey Lohan are obvious ones), and “Reality Show Clip Time” mocks the shows that fall under the reality television category. Overall, these features, the stupidity from those on TV and McHale’s astute sense of humor combine to make this show a great one,
